Directions
GET COOKING: 1. USING A FINE MESH SIEVE, RINSE ENTIRE BAG OF RICE UNDER COLD WATER FOR 1-2 MINUTES AND DRAIN. 2. COMBINE RICE, 2 1/4 CUPS WATER OR BROTH, AND 1 TBSP. BUTTER OR OIL (OPTIONAL, BUT VERY TASTY) IN A 2 QT. SAUCEPAN AND BRING TO A BOIL. 3. COVER WITH A TIGHT-FITTING LID. REDUCE HEAT TO MAINTAIN A LOW SIMMER AND COOK FOR 45-50 MINUTES. 4. WITH LID ON, REMOVE FROM HEAT AND LET STEAM FOR 10 MINUTES. FLUFF IT UP WITH A FORK AND DIG IN. SERVES 4-5.
